Nature-based solutions (NbS) have significant potential to mitigate climate impacts and enhance resilience by utilising natural processes and ecosystems. However, for NbS to be effective, they must be implemented and scaled appropriately, especially in vulnerable regions. This study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of NbS and the challenges associated with their scaling and implementation in the Global South. To address these challenges, the study introduces ENSURE – Effective Nature-based Solutions Utilisation and Resource Evaluation framework designed to map and estimate the benefits of NbS.
